Bilateral communication may have plunged into chaos its lowest point in decades based on the incidents witnessed in recent weeks and months.On Monday, the long-running feud between the United States and Russia escalated to new levels after a public spat erupted after when Moscow strongly criticized the United States military action of destroying a Syrian warplane .The Russian government even intimidated that it would target airplanes from the United States and its close allies if they were found flying to the west of the Euphrates. The Russians also claimed to have discontinued the hotline previously being used by the Russian and American militaries to prevent collisions between airplanes flying through the Syrian airspace (Gordon and Nechepurenko).Not since 2011, when the civil war began in Syria, has the United States downed a Syrian plane before. This incident, however, occurred again on Sunday, June 18, 2017 after a Syrian Jet bombed the area close to where soldiers supported by America were fighting the Islamic State in Syria. This, however, was not the first major American Military action against the Islamic state as back in April, the US launched a cruise missile as punishment for a nerve gas attack which had killed many civilians.
